Quick answers
What do staff see when they scan a ticket? 路 EventTicketGo
The scanner shows one big result you can read at arm's length:
- Welcome, Steve with the seat, like "Row F Seat 12". If the order has extras, it adds "Also: 2 Program" so you can hand them over.
- Already in: Steve with the seat and the time it was first scanned. This stops a shared screenshot from getting two people in.
- Wrong event when the ticket is for a different show.
- Ticket not valid when it was refunded or cancelled.
- Not a ticket when the code is not one of yours.
Below the camera is Enter a code by hand with a Check ticket button. Type the short code printed under the QR, like ABCD-2345. Capitals, spaces, and the dash do not matter. Use it when a ticket will not scan or the phone has no camera. You can also turn the buyer's screen brightness up and try again, or ask the organizer to find the name in Attendees on the event page.
What do we need to start selling? 路 EventTicketGo
Two things, sometimes one:
- An event. Go to Tickets and press Create an event. Add a title, start time, venue, and price. Pick general admission, or a seat map if you have one.
- Stripe, for paid tickets. Go to Settings, then Billing, and press Connect Stripe under Payouts. It takes about five minutes. The Publish button stays off on a paid event until this is done.
Then press Publish and share the link. Free events can publish without Stripe.
Good to know
- On the Free plan you can have 3 events on sale at once. Community and up have no cap.
- Need reserved seats but no map yet? See how a room becomes a seat map.
What does EventTicketGo cost? 路 EventTicketGo
One all in payment fee on each order, card processing included. The rate depends on your plan: 5.9% + 60 cents on Free, 4.9% + 60 cents on Community, 4.4% + 50 cents on School, and 3.9% + 40 cents on District.
It is charged once on the whole order, tickets and extras together, not per ticket. Example: on Community, a $20 order of two $10 tickets has a $1.58 fee.
- No setup fee and no monthly minimum for tickets.
- Free events and comp tickets cost nothing.
- On the Free plan, EventTicketGo can be the one extra product you pick. Community ($399 a year or $39 a month) includes it with no event cap.
See pricing for the plans.
What happens if we have to cancel an event? 路 EventTicketGo
Open the event under Tickets and scroll to Cancel the show. Type one line about what happened, tick I understand every order is refunded, and press Cancel the show and refund everyone. Only owners and admins can do this.
Every buyer is refunded in full, ticket fee included, and emailed. The public page then says the event was cancelled. This cannot be undone. If a refund does not go through, the page lists who, and Retry refunds tries again.
Moving the date instead
To reschedule, change Starts under Event details and press Save details. Every buyer gets an email with the new date. Their tickets keep working. Buyers who cannot make it can refund themselves inside your refund window.
What happens to your fee when we refund someone? 路 EventTicketGo
When an order is refunded, our payment fee is refunded too, card processing included. The buyer gets back everything they paid, and a refunded order costs you nothing in fees.
Refunds are for the whole order. You can refund any order from the Orders table on the event page with the Refund button. Buyers can refund themselves until the number of days you set in Refunds until, days before. After that, they can send a request, which shows up under Refund requests for you to Approve and refund or Deny.
What if our event doesn't need assigned seats? 路 EventTicketGo
Use general admission. On Create an event, under How tickets work, pick General admission, buyers pick how many.
- Fill in Capacity, general admission, how many people the room holds.
- Add up to four ticket types, like Adult and Student, each with a Price, dollars and an optional Limit.
- Press Create event.
Buyers pick how many of each type. They still get a QR code per ticket, and the door scans them the same way. You can change prices, limits, and capacity later on the event page.
What if our lobby Wi-Fi is bad? 路 EventTicketGo
The scanner checks each ticket over the phone's internet connection, so cell data works when the lobby Wi-Fi does not. Tell volunteers to turn Wi-Fi off if the lobby network is slow.
If the phone loses its connection, the scanner shows Offline. Scans will not check until the Wi-Fi is back. There is no offline mode yet, so scans wait until the phone is back online.
For a known dead zone, test the door link in that spot before the show, and keep a printed list from Download attendees (CSV) as a backup.
What if someone can't find their ticket or their phone died? 路 EventTicketGo
Lost the email? Go to Find my tickets, type the email used to buy, and press Resend my tickets. Tickets for every upcoming event go back to that address. Check the spam folder too. This also works for someone who was sent a ticket.
Phone died? Borrow any phone, sign in to that email, and open the ticket from there. Or use Find my tickets on the borrowed phone.
For door staff
An organizer can open the event under Tickets and look at Attendees to confirm the person's name, seat, and whether their ticket was already scanned. Keep a printed list from Download attendees (CSV) at the door for these moments.
If a ticket will not scan, the scanner can type the short code printed under the QR, like ABCD-2345, in Enter a code by hand.
When do we get our money? 路 EventTicketGo
Ticket money lands in your connected Stripe account as each order is paid. Each show then pays out to your bank about seven days after the event ends. The wait lets late refunds settle before cash leaves for the bank.
You can see the date on the event page, under Sold, as "Payout scheduled for" and a date. The Earnings page lists every show with its payout status: Scheduled, Paid out, or No payout, nothing sold. If a payout fails, the page says why. Write to hello@sizzlego.com and we sort it out.
If you move the event date, the payout date moves with it.
Who do ticket emails come from? 路 EventTicketGo
Ticket emails show the sender EventTicketGo via SizzleGo, from mail.sizzlego.com. Your organization's name and the event are in the email itself.
When a buyer hits reply, the reply goes to your address, not to us. Set it in Settings under Reply to email.
Buyers get these emails: the confirmation with their tickets, a note if you move their seat or change the date or venue, a refund notice, and a ticket someone sent them. These go out even when your credit balance is low, and they cost no credits.
Who owns our attendees' information? 路 EventTicketGo
You do. Every buyer goes into People, your organization's one contact list, and you can download each event's list with Download attendees (CSV).
We email your attendees only about their own tickets: confirmations, seat or date changes, refunds, and transfers. We do not run a marketplace, we do not sell or rent your list, and event pages carry no advertising trackers. Stripe takes the payment and our email service sends the tickets, and that is it.
See our privacy policy for the details.
Whose bank account does ticket money land in? 路 EventTicketGo
Yours. Go to Settings, then Billing, and press Connect Stripe under Payouts. Stripe asks for your organization and bank details. It takes about five minutes.
Each paid order goes to that Stripe account, minus the one payment fee if you chose to absorb it. Each show then pays out to the bank you linked, about seven days after it ends.
Good to know
- Until Stripe finishes checking your details, the page says payouts turn on soon. You can still sell once charges are on.
- Use Update payout details on the same page to change the bank.
- The same Stripe account also takes donations in SizzleGo.
