Privacy

Short version: we hold what an organizer or school needs to run their community, we never sell it, and we delete it when asked. Updated October 9, 2026.

Who we are

What we collect

  • Organizers sign in with an email and a name through Clerk. Billing runs through Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
  • Buyers, volunteers, donors, and parents do not make accounts. When you sign up, book, buy, or give, the organizer's SizzleGo record keeps your name, email, and, if you give it, your phone number, so they can confirm and remind you.
  • Parents can sign in at SizzleGo.com/home with an email link or a text code, with no password. The page shows their own records and the children a school lists them as a guardian for. For this we keep a hash of each code, a hash of each signed in device, and a log of each sign in: the time, email or text, and a hash of the network address.
  • Schools and parent groups can keep records about students. What each product holds is listed under Student data below.
  • GazetteGo residents can save a street address so the newsletter shows what is near them.
  • Server logs hold IP addresses and browser details to keep the site safe.

Student data

Students never make accounts and are never contacted by us. Student records are entered by a school, or by a parent or organizer acting for the school, and they belong to the school.

  • The school roster is used by SchoolConferenceGo, FrontOfficeGo, and HomeroomGo. It can hold:
    • a student's name, preferred name, and date of birth
    • grade, classroom, and the school's own student id
    • the parents or guardians linked to them
  • HomeroomGo holds:
    • course enrollments, assignments, and grades
    • attendance and report cards
    • behavior notes, including discipline incidents
  • FrontOfficeGo holds:
    • absence and late arrival reports
    • emergency contacts, pickup and custody notes, and the sign-out log
    • health and allergy notes and nurse visits
    • school fees, and permission slips with any file a family attaches
    Health notes open only to school leaders, the office, and the nurse, and to teachers when the office shares them. Custody and pickup records open only to school leaders and the office.
  • SignUpGo can ask for a student's name and classroom on a signup.
  • FundDriveGo student fundraising pages show a first name and a last initial only, never a full last name.

When a school uses SizzleGo, we act as a school official under FERPA: we use student records only to run the service for that school, under the school's direction. Student records are never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to build profiles for anyone but the school.

For students under 13, the school gives consent for this educational use on behalf of parents, as COPPA allows. Parents who want to see, correct, or delete a student record should ask the school, and we help the school do it.

HomeroomGo can write a short plain language summary of a student's grade and attendance signals for school staff. To do that it sends the student's name and those signals to Anthropic. It only runs when a staff member opens the student's insights.

A school can ask us to delete its student records at any time, and when its agreement ends. Schools on the School and District plans can ask for a signed data privacy agreement, which sets the exact terms.

How it is used

  • To run the thing you signed up for: confirmations, reminders, tickets, receipts.
  • Text messages go only to people who ticked the box asking for them. Reply STOP to any text and it stops. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile numbers and texting consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
  • Newsletters and appeals go only to people who agreed to hear from that organizer. Every one carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click.
  • We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. AdGo campaigns use only what an organizer types into the plan, never contact lists.

Who else touches it

These vendors process data for us. Each one gets only what its job needs.

  • Clerk: organizer sign in.
  • Stripe: payments, payouts, and subscriptions.
  • RavenDB Cloud: the database, where every record rests.
  • Render: hosting. Every request passes through it.
  • Resend: email.
  • Twilio and Mobile Text Alerts: text messages. A student's name can appear inside a message an adult chooses to send.
  • Cloudflare: uploaded images and files.
  • Anthropic: AI features. It:
    • translates messages and pages for families who read another language
    • drafts AdGo plans and ad copy
    • answers help questions
    • writes the HomeroomGo student summaries described above
  • Meta: runs AdGo ad campaigns an organizer approves. It receives the campaign, never contact lists. When you sign up on an AdGo ad page, Meta is told that a signup came from its ad, with your email, phone and name scrambled first so they cannot be read, so it can show the ad to more people like you. A ticket bought after that is reported the same way, with its price.
  • Smarty: suggests addresses as a GazetteGo resident types one.
  • OpenStreetMap Nominatim: turns a saved GazetteGo address into a map point.
  • Sentry: error reports. When an error happens it also records a replay of the page around it, with every word, form field and image masked, so we can fix what broke. It never receives what a form sent, a student record, or who was signed in.
  • Plausible: page view counts. It sets no cookies and does not follow you across sites.

How long we keep it

We keep an organization's records, including signups, bookings, orders, and messages, while its account is open, so the organizer can answer questions later. When an organization or school asks us to delete its data, we send it a copy first, then delete it. A signed data privacy agreement sets the deletion window for student records.

Your choices

  • Ask any organizer to remove you, or email hello@sizzlego.com and we will do it within 30 days.
  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you. We answer within 30 days.
  • Parents can ask a school to correct or delete a student record. We help the school do it.

Children

Accounts on SizzleGo are for adults. Children do not sign up or give us information themselves. Records about students are entered by adults for a school, as described under Student data.

Cookies

We use no advertising or tracking cookies, with one exception: an AdGo ad page may use a Facebook measurement cookie (named _fbp), which Meta sets so the organizer can tell whether its ads work. It is only on those ad pages, and only when the organizer has turned it on. The cookies we set are:

  • Clerk's sign in cookies, which keep organizers signed in.
  • sizzlego_org, which remembers which organization is open.
  • sizzlego_lang, which remembers the language you picked.
  • gzg_resident, which keeps a GazetteGo resident signed in.
  • msg_parent and hrg_family_ followed by the school name, which keep a parent on their family home, their MessageGo inbox, or one school's family page after they open their link.
  • fam_phone, which keeps a parent signed in to their family home after they enter a text code.

Stripe may set its own fraud prevention cookies on a checkout page.

Changes

When this page changes we update the date at the top. Big changes get an email to organizers.
