Record health and allergy notes
Health notes keep a student's allergies, medications, and conditions where the office and nurse can find them fast. A red badge warns staff wherever the student's name shows up.
Before you start
You need to be an owner or admin, or a team member set up as Principal, Office staff, or Nurse.
Steps
- Go to Front office, then Directory, and click the student's name.
- Scroll to Health and allergies.
- Under Allergies, type the allergy, pick the Severity (Mild, Moderate, or Severe), and add the Reaction or plan, like "EpiPen in the office".
- Under Medications, add the medication, dose, and when it is given.
- Add Conditions, one per line, and any Notes.
- Tick Share with teachers if the student's teachers should see this.
- Click Save health notes.
Good to know
- Health details are encrypted when stored. Only the allergy level is kept plain, so the red badge can show.
- The Allergy or Severe allergy badge shows on the directory, the student record, the sign out desk, the nurse log, and printed cards.
- Teachers see nothing unless you tick Share with teachers. Then a Health note badge shows next to the student on their class page in Classes. Each time a teacher opens it, it is logged.
- Health notes are never sent by email or text.
- Printed emergency cards and class emergency rosters include health notes even when they are not shared with teachers.
