Let a coach or room parent message only their group

Owners and admins reach every group. A helper on your team, like a coach or a room parent, reaches only the groups you pick for them.

Before you start

The person must be on your team as a helper. Add them in Team first. You also need at least one group.

Steps

1. Go to Messages.
2. Open Groups and rosters.
3. Find the Leader access card. Each helper has a list of your groups.
4. Check the groups that helper may message.
5. Click Save access. You will see "Leader access saved."

Good to know

• A leader sees only their groups in the composer, plus the reports, answers, and parent questions for those groups.
• Only owners and admins can make groups, send to a tag, or send an emergency alert.
• A helper with an admin level Messages grant in Team acts like an admin here.
• Teachers can message their own classes without a group. See Message the families in your class.
• If a helper sees "No groups are shared with you yet," no group is checked for them.
