Promote students to the next grade at year end

Year end promotion moves every active student up one grade in one step. Students in your top grade graduate. Owners and admins run it once per school year.

Before you start

Check your grade levels on School setup. Promotion follows that list, lowest to highest.

Steps

1. In the rail, open Classes. Under Setup, click Year-end promotion.
2. Read the Preview. It shows each student's grade Now and Next year, and how many move up and graduate.
3. Tick Keep in grade for any student staying in the same grade.
4. Click Apply promotion and confirm.

Undo it

1. On the same page, click Undo promotion and confirm. This works only on the day you ran it.

Good to know

• Graduating students are marked inactive. Their grades and report cards stay on file.
• A student whose grade is not on your list stays where they are.
• It runs once per school year. If someone tries again, nothing changes.
• Undo puts students back as they were. Anyone changed since the promotion is left alone.
• After that day, Undo no longer works. To fix one student, import the roster again on Import roster with their right grade. It updates them in place.
