HomeroomGoGetting started
Set up terms, the grading scale, and grade levels
School setup holds three settings every other HomeroomGo page uses: your terms, your grading scale, and your grade levels. Do this first, before teachers create classes. Only an owner or admin can open it.
Steps
- In the rail, open Classes. Under Setup, click School setup.
- Under Add a term, type a Name like Fall 2026. Pick the First day and Last day, then click Add term. Add every term in your year.
- Under Grading scale, fill one row per letter: the letter, the cutoff percent, and the GPA points. The lowest band must start at 0. Click Save scale.
- Under Grade levels, type your grades from lowest to highest with commas, like K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Click Save grade levels.
Good to know
- The standard scale is A at 90, B at 80, C at 70, D at 60, and F at 0, on 4.0 points. Click Use the standard scale to go back to it.
- A band worth 0 points does not pass and earns no credit.
- The current term is the one whose dates include today. New classes, report cards, and exports pick it for you. If a quarter sits inside a semester, the one that started last wins.
- A term can be up to a year long, and each term needs its own name.
- Deleting a term does not change classes or report cards you already issued.
- If you leave grade levels blank, year end promotion uses the grades it finds on your roster.
