Log behavior notes and tell families
The behavior log keeps positive recognitions and incidents for each student. Positive points add to a student's net score and incidents subtract.
Steps
- In the rail, open Classes. Under Teaching, click Behavior.
- Under Log a note, pick the Student and the Kind: Positive or Incident.
- Type a short Type, like Helped a peer, and the Points. Add a Note if you want more detail.
- To tell the family, tick Email the family about this note.
- Click Log note.
Good to know
- Teachers can log notes only for students in their own classes. The office can log for anyone.
- The family message has the subject "A positive note for" or "A behavior note for" the student's name. It includes the type and your note, so write the note for a parent to read.
- It goes to each linked guardian who agreed to school messages. Each email uses 1 credit from your wallet.
- By student shows each student's net points. Recent shows the latest 50 notes.
- Logged a note by mistake? In Recent, click Remove on that note and confirm. Its points come off the net. The office or the person who logged it can remove it.
- A note cannot be edited. To change one, remove it and log it again.
- Behavior is one part of the Student success score.
