Create a campaign: what to promote, cap, and audience

A campaign promotes one thing: one of your events, or one link. Anyone who can edit Ads can plan one. Approving it and connecting Meta takes someone who can publish Ads, like an owner, an admin, or a Manager on Ads.

What you can promote

  • A show with tickets or a conference night that has not started yet.
  • A signup sheet or a fundraiser that is live.
  • Any link, like your website, a product, or a page somewhere else.

Steps

  1. Go to Ads and click Plan a campaign.
  2. Click One of my events and pick it in What to promote. Or click A link and fill in The link, What is it called and What is it, one sentence.
  3. In What counts as a result, pick sales, signups, donations, leads or visits. Leave it on Pick for me and AdGo matches the event: tickets for a show, signups for a sheet, gifts for a fundraiser, leads for a link.
  4. If you want it to stop sooner, set a date in Stop by, optional.
  5. In Never spend more than this, dollars, type your cap. The smallest is $50.
  6. In Who is this for, one sentence, describe the people you want to reach.
  7. Click Write the plan. Read the daily budget, the angles, what a good first week looks like, and what could go wrong.
  8. Click Approve this plan.
  9. Click Connect Meta and sign in to give ad access. If you see Mark ready instead, click it. See what Ready, waiting on Meta means.

Good to know

  • A safety margin of 5 percent, or at least $15, comes off the top. A $300 cap plans against $285.
  • The campaign ends at the first of these: the show or conference night starts, the sheet or fundraiser closes, your stop date, or 30 days.
  • It needs at least two days to run. A date sooner than that is refused.
  • A leads campaign turns on the landing page for you, so there is a form to count leads on.
  • Write the ad copy and turn on the landing page before you connect Meta. That is when the ads are built.
  • You can pause any time.
