Pools, Schedule & Brackets

Once registration closes, the tournament engine does the heavy lifting: it generates balanced pools, builds a court-aware match schedule, calculates pool standings, and seeds teams into an elimination bracket. Brackets render as an interactive SVG tree on desktop and a stacked card view with round tabs on mobile, so captains and spectators can follow along from any device.

When to use it

  • Round-robin pool play → single-elimination bracket
  • Multi-division tournaments with separate brackets per division
  • Best-of-3 or best-of-1 pool matches
  • Seeded knockout-only formats

What you get

  • Automatic pool generation balanced by team count and seed
  • Court-aware schedule builder that respects match-length and overlap
  • Live pool standings with head-to-head tiebreakers
  • Single-elimination bracket generator with re-seeding after pool play
  • Responsive bracket visualization (SVG desktop + mobile card view)
  • Score entry with automatic advancement to the next round
  • Manual edit/override for judging calls, forfeits, and reschedules

Setup

  1. Close registration at your deadline (or manually from the tournament dashboard)
  2. Click Start Pool Play - pools and schedule are generated automatically
  3. Review the schedule in the Schedule tab and adjust court assignments if needed
  4. As matches finish, enter scores in the Scores tab
  5. When pool play is complete, click Start Brackets to seed the elimination round
  6. Continue entering scores - winners advance automatically
  7. Click Complete when the final match is done to lock in standings

Tips

  • Enter a realistic match length in the wizard so the schedule doesn't double-book courts
  • Review pool assignments before starting - you can rebalance manually if something looks off
  • Drop in a printed bracket PDF from the Flyer view for tables at the venue
  • Use Enter Scores on a phone courtside - it's faster than a laptop
  • If a team forfeits, mark it explicitly rather than deleting - that keeps standings accurate
