Sharing & Growth Tools

Most events that get zero sign-ups get them because nobody heard about them. SignUpGo includes a built-in share workflow - a one-click share modal that fires the first time you publish an event, a 24-hour "no fills yet" nudge email if signups haven't started, and a dashboard empty state that re-opens the share tools any time. Events that rack up 3+ shares in the first 24 hours get 5x more sign-ups on average.

When to use it

  • First-time publishers who need a nudge to share beyond the dashboard
  • Promoting a new tournament on multiple channels at once
  • Texting a link to a parent group chat without retyping anything
  • Dropping a Facebook/LinkedIn post without writing copy from scratch
  • Recovering quiet events that went 24 hours without any sign-ups

What you get

  • Post-publish share modal (fires once on first publish, never on re-publish)
  • One-click Copy link with visual "Copied ✓" confirmation
  • Auto-generated QR code with a download button (no extra SDK/setup)
  • Prefilled SMS (iMessage / Android) with the event title and link
  • Prefilled email with subject and body pointing to the signup page
  • Twitter/X, Facebook, and LinkedIn share intents with the right copy
  • 24-hour no-fills nudge email sent automatically if signups haven't started
  • "No sign-ups yet - share this event" empty-state banner on dashboard cards
  • Every share action logs a share_clicked telemetry event so you can see what works
  • Fully accessible - focus trap, ESC to close, 44px touch targets

Setup

  1. Publish a new event - the share modal opens automatically on first publish
  2. Use Copy link for the broadest reach (paste into parent emails, newsletters, Slack)
  3. Download the QR code and drop it into a printed flyer or social post
  4. Tap SMS to prefill a text; tap Email to prefill a mailto
  5. Use Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn buttons for a one-tap social post
  6. If you close the modal, re-open the same share tools from any dashboard event card with "Share event"
  7. If no one has signed up after 24 hours, the nudge email reminds you to share - click any link inside to reopen the tools

Tips

  • Share within the first 48 hours - that's when reach compounds the most
  • Texts to 5 close contacts plus one group-chat post is the highest-converting combo we see
  • Use the QR code on printed posters, flyers, and at the entrance to your event
  • The nudge email goes out once per event - take it as your cue to post on one more channel
  • Share to LinkedIn for school/district audiences; SMS and Facebook win for community events
