Send a campaign to a segment of your contacts
A campaign sends one message to many contacts by email, text, or both. A segment is a saved audience, built from contact tags, that you can reuse.
Steps
Save a segment (optional)
- Go to Signups, then click Segments.
- Under New segment, enter a Name and the Tags (comma separated), like room12, pto.
- Pick Match: Any of these tags, or All of these tags.
- Click Save segment. The list shows how many contacts it matches.
Send a campaign
- Go to Signups, then click Campaigns.
- Enter a Name (internal) and pick the Channel: Email, Text, or Email and text.
- Write the Email subject and Message. For texts, add a short Text version (for text sends).
- Pick a Saved segment, or type Audience tags. Leave both blank to reach every opted-in contact.
- Click Create draft. The draft shows how many people it reaches and the estimated credits.
- Click Send now and confirm.
Good to know
- Campaigns reach only people who opted in to marketing, like families who ticked PTA news when they joined. Every message has an unsubscribe link.
- An email costs 1 credit. A text costs 3 credits per 160 characters. One credit is one cent.
- Paid PTA members carry a tag like member-2026-27, so a segment of members is easy.
- If a send stops partway, for example when credits run out, open it and click Resume sending. Nobody gets it twice.
- Tags live on your contacts in People.
