Write report card comments

Each teacher writes report card comments on their own class page. The office issues them with the report card, and families read them under each class.

Before you start

The class needs a term, or the school needs terms on School setup. Comments belong to the class's term, or to the current term if the class has none.

Steps

  1. In the rail, open Classes. Click Gradebook, then open the class.
  2. Scroll to Report card comments. Type a comment in the box under each student.
  3. Click Save comments.

Use saved comments

  1. In Your saved comments, type phrases you use often, one per line.
  2. Click Save my comments.
  3. Under any student, pick a phrase from Add a saved comment. Click Save comments. The phrase is added to the end of what you typed.

Good to know

  • Each comment can be up to 500 characters. A comment that is too long does not save, and the page tells you.
  • You can keep up to 20 saved comments. They are yours only.
  • Comments freeze when the office issues report cards. If you change one later, the office needs to issue the term again.
  • Families never see a comment until the report card is issued.
