What makes a good profile photo?
Go to Newsletter, then Photo review, then What makes a good photo? to open the guide while you review.
Approve when:
- The face fills most of the frame.
- It is clearly lit and the face is easy to see.
- It is a recent photo of just this person.
- Indoors or outdoors, either is fine.
Deny when:
- It is a pet, a child, or a cartoon.
- It is a logo, a sign, or a product.
- It is a group photo and you cannot tell who the resident is.
- Sunglasses, a hat, a mask or a hand hides the face.
- It is a landscape, an abstract image or a screenshot.
- It is heavily filtered or made by AI.
- It is blurry, very dark, or cropped too tight.
When you deny, write the reason in plain words, like No face visible or Appears to be a pet. The resident sees exactly what you write.
