Structure your league the right way
Most K-12 basketball leagues run 8-10 weeks of regular season followed by a single- or double-elimination postseason tournament. The scheduler must handle both:

- Makeup games for weather or gym-conflict cancellations
- Officials assignments that don't double-book the same ref
Court rotation rules that actually work
Rule 1: No team plays back-to-back
Give teams at least a 30-minute break between games. The scheduler should enforce this automatically.
Rule 2: Minimize driving between gyms
If a team's two games of the day are at different locations, a 45-minute drive between them kills your family experience. Either lock a team to one gym per day, or allow a 90-minute buffer.
Rule 3: Rotate officials
The same ref shouldn't work four games in a row. Build a staff template, assign roles per game, and let the system warn you when a ref is overbooked.
