Payments & Payouts

SignUpGo uses Stripe Connect to process payments and pay you directly. You keep the bulk of every transaction and SignUpGo takes a small platform fee that depends on your plan. Funds transfer automatically to your connected bank account through a daily payout cron - you never have to request a payout manually.

When to use it

  • Collecting ticket sales for school plays or fundraisers
  • Accepting team registration fees for tournaments
  • Charging gate fees for sporting events
  • Selling merchandise at events
  • Processing donations with receipts

What you get

  • Stripe Connect onboarding with bank + tax info
  • Supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, and saved cards
  • Platform fee automatically deducted (varies by plan tier)
  • Daily payout cron transfers net revenue to your bank
  • Refunds processed directly in Stripe and reflected in dashboard
  • Connect backlog processor sweeps historical payments after onboarding
  • Live Financial Summary on each event and tournament dashboard
  • Connect soft gate: publishing paid events before Stripe is connected shows a banner ("Set up payouts to receive funds") instead of blocking you
  • Dashboard payout reminder dot on the Settings link when paid events exist without a connected account

Setup

  1. Go to Settings > Payouts
  2. Click Connect Stripe Account - you'll be redirected to Stripe's onboarding
  3. Complete the form: legal entity, bank account, tax ID, and identity verification
  4. Return to SignUpGo - your account will show as Connected
  5. New payments flow into your Stripe balance immediately and pay out the next business day
  6. If you had paid events before connecting, the backlog processor catches them in the next cron cycle

Tips

  • Connect Stripe before you publish a paid event, or buyers will see a setup warning
  • Keep your Stripe account in good standing - unresolved disputes can freeze payouts
  • Refunds deduct from your next payout, so leave a small buffer in your forecasts
  • Use the Reports page for cross-event revenue totals and CSV export
  • Upgrade to a higher plan tier to reduce the per-transaction platform fee
